Communicating…Are You?

I’ll admit it, I am the last to write my article for this issue of Moosehaven News. It is the morning after our Presidential Election 2020 and we still do not know who the next President of these United States will be. America holds its breath…

When the final votes are tallied and the announcements are made, what will be your reaction? Will you crow with victory and slander the loser? Will you berate the system and say the winner cheated, the system is rigged? Will the nation remain divided?

In this time of uncertainty, this morning as I write, my hope is that we all learn to communicate. Not with hate and vitriol, but with understanding and reason. I hope we learn to listen more than we talk (coming from me, that’s rich….I can see Bill Tippins rolling his eyes now…)

According to an article featured in LifeHack.org (click image above to see full article) communicating or really listening means, “Not only giving to the other the time to finish his speech, but also the exercise of “borrowing” his perspective. Listening means to actually see things from their point of view.”

As citizens of the United States of America, community members across the nation and residents in our own City of Contentment, it is our right to have our own opinion about the leadership of our country. It is not our prerogative, however, to force others to agree with it.

Remember, if you want to talk about something, talk about the Moose! Encourage your friends and family members to join our great fraternity. Share our mission with them!

As always, we thank you for your support of the mission that is Moosehaven!

God Bless Moosehaven, God Bless Mooseheart, And God Bless America!
