Moosehaven’s most anticipated holiday event, the Christmas Tree Lighting and its associated festivities, took place December 6-7. This cherished tradition has been generously sponsored by the Georgia Moose Association for 28 years!
The celebrations began Friday afternoon with the Georgia Women of the Moose hosting a delightful tea party featuring lovely teas and treats for the ladies, while the Georgia men enjoyed lunch, beverages, and camaraderie in the Centennial Building. That evening, everyone gathered for a lively pizza party accompanied by live music, setting the tone for a weekend of joy.
Saturday brought an afternoon picnic of hot dogs and hamburgers, leading up to the grand finale — the annual tree lighting ceremony in the Moosehaven Chapel. Residents marveled at the breathtaking moment when the Georgia Moose Association flipped the switch, illuminating the chapel tree and the entire campus. Lights across Moosehaven, including inside resident homes, came to life in a dazzling display. The evening ended with a festive wine and cheese reception attended by none other than Santa and Mrs. Claus!
This beloved tradition remains a highlight of Moosehaven’s Christmas season. We are deeply thankful for the generosity and dedication of the Georgia Moose Family, whose efforts bring joy and fellowship to our community. On behalf of all who live and work at Moosehaven, thank you!
